Hey there! I’m Laura and I’m so glad you’re here.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet, where I share inspiration and encouragement for making life wonderful, right where you are.
I’m a Midwest mom who knows all too well the struggle of balance. I laughingly refer to myself as a ‘sorta crunchy, semi-crafter, DIY wannabe, part-time bookworm, coffee fanatic’ because while I want to do all the things all the time, I just can’t. No matter how much coffee I drink. (And I drink a lot of coffee!)
Chances are, you can relate to that, at least a little. I’ve got loads of Pinterest boards full of inspiration. But the number of projects I actually complete is a small fraction. It’s just my reality as a busy, working mom. So I tend to focus on easy projects that I can complete in a short amount of time with minimal prep. Those satisfy my crafty-cravings without being so involved I abandon them halfway through.
And speaking of busy, I always said I didn’t want to be a ‘busy’ family. I love the idea of removing all the busyness from our life. But ideas and realities are often at odds, aren’t they? As I work on balance, simplification, and mindfulness, I share here on the blog. I’m not perfect. But neither are you. And that’s good, because it means we can learn from each other.
Why do I blog?
I felt a pull to start blogging years ago (many years before I actually began, if I’m honest), but I wasn’t quite sure why. Now that I’ve been at it for a while, I can tell you the community and connection is the big reward.
I’m a ‘big ideas’ person. Ideas are always popping into my head, and I love sharing them to help others. But walking around everyday life, blurting out your ideas and sharing your seemingly random thoughts can earn you plenty of awkward stares. While I’m no stranger to awkward stares, I do prefer they happen on the other side of a screen where I can’t see them. (LOL!)
I’m a believer in “your vibe attracts your tribe”. The internet allows us to reach so many people all at once, that with a little intention, we can expand our communities to include amazing humans we’d never encounter otherwise. That’s pretty incredible, when you think about it.
I’m an introvert (INTJ, to be exact). And while I love connecting with people, I also love my quiet alone time. And I’m the type of person who appreciates some time to think on things before I share my ideas, opinions, or response. The online world is wonderfully accommodating to people like me, which makes it a comfortable space for sharing.
Why the name?
Life can get overwhelming in the Age of Busy. But I believe if we look hard enough, we can always find life’s little pockets full of wonder.
Where can we connect?
Aside from here on the blog, we can also connect on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter. I also have a Facebook community where we are currently going through the 52 Lists Project. I’d love you to join me!
