Have you tried a 10×10 wardrobe challenge? This is my first!
Here’s a fun little challenge! It’s a 10×10 wardrobe challenge, originated by Style Bee, also shared by Un-fancy. It’s sort of like a mini version of a seasonal capsule wardrobe. But instead of using the capsule wardrobe for a whole season, you just use it for 10 days.
Sounds easy, right?? There’s a catch…
You can only include 10 items total. That’s 10 tops, bottoms, layers, outwear, and shoes. Basically, any core wardrobe items. So you don’t have to count jewelry and other accessories, loungwear or sleepwear, workout clothes, undergarments or anything like that.
I’ve done many +/-30 piece wardrobes, but never a 10 piece. This should be fun!
I decided to try this out because I was really stuck in a rut trying to decide what to put in my spring wardrobe. And since the first day of spring was over a week ago, I felt it was about time I did SOMETHING! So 10×10 it is.
Early Spring 10×10 Wardrobe
My basic wardrobe pallet is gray/pink/blue. That actually happened by accident just from me trying to put together 10 items I could easily mix and match. And when I stepped back to look at the final set, I realized it had a general color scheme that goes nicely and is perfect for spring!
My tops include:
Pink Deep Pocket Tunic – This is a new Agnes & Dora top. It is a thicker Jersey knit, super soft and comfy. The sleeves are 3/4 length and the back is slightly longer than the front.
Denim Blue Kahlo Dress – Yes, this is technically a dress (also by Agnes & Dora)! But I wear it as a tunic. It’s about as long as many of the tunics I wear, so it works. It’s fitted like a casual t-shirt up top in the shoulders and arms and flowy from the empire waist down.
Heather Gray Flow Top – I just discovered this top from Elegance Restored. The sleeves are fitted with a drop shoulder seam and the body is a boxy fit (perfect for hiding the muffin top – ha!).
Tanya Top – Another find from Elegance Restored. Again, fitted sleeves and shoulders with a flowy bottom. I love the two-way stripes!
I included a couple of layers:
Gray Dreamy Duster from Agnes & Dora. This is one of my most favorite pieces of clothing. I wear it constantly, so it just made sense to include it.
Blue Floral Cardi from Agnes & Dora. I just got this and can’t wait to wear it. It screams spring!
My bottoms include:
Knit Jeggings from Agnes & Dora. I am in love with these and could wear them every single day. They are super comfy, like leggings, but with more of a structured feel to the fabric.
Gray Pixie Pants from Agnes & Dora. These Pixie Pants are sort of like a cross between dress pants and leggings. Nice and stretchy and comfy, but a dressier more structured fabric.
And the shoes:
I only have room for one pair of shoes, so it’s going to be my TOMS . I have no problem wearing these babies for 10 days straight because they are some of my favorites. But I am a little nervous about the weather. Early spring is cold and rainy here, which means icy cold puddles all over the place.
I called this an Early Spring 10×10 because I may try it again in late spring. And because I live in Indiana where the weather changes drastically in a very short amount of time, it could be sweltering hot by then and I’ll include a totally different mix of items!
