I love supporting socially ethical brands. So I was so happy to find some options on Prime Wardrobe!
I love supporting socially ethical brands, but they can be a little difficult to find at popular retailers. (I’m still tapping my foot at Target, waiting for an ethically made brand on their racks!) But I recently found lots of options on Amazon – and even better, on Prime Wardrobe!
If you’re new to Prime Wardrobe, it’s Amazon’s answer to the style box trend. The big difference, though, is that you style your own box (which means no styling fee). And, of course, because it’s an Amazon Prime service, it’s free shipping and free returns.
(I’ve shared all the details in my Prime Wardrobe page!)
So, since it’s basically risk free (pay for nothing unless you decide to keep it), I went ahead and ordered 8 items from ethical brands available on Prime Wardrobe. Here’s what I got!
I’ve tried several things from Alternative and have not been let down yet. This star sweatshirt is SO soft and comfy. And the front kangaroo pouch is an added bonus. The raw neckline makes it a little edgy, in a fun way. I’d say it’s true to size, or you can go up a size.
This sweater dress is perfect for dressing up or down. I’d wear it with some white sneakers or casual loafers for a weekend look or with some booties or boots, pretty jewelry, and maybe a blazer for a workday look. I wasn’t sure about the size because I wear a medium in tops and a large in bottoms. I ordered a medium, and it fit well.
This casual duster is the perfect thing to throw over a casual outfit on a cool day. It’s thickness is between t-shirt and sweatshirt fabric, so not too bulky. And it has this subtle ‘Thankful’ message on the back that I wasn’t able to get a picture of. (Here’s the stock photo.)
How gorgeous is this purple?? This cowl neck tunic is so perfect. The length is great for leggings and it’s not too loose or baggy. The neck is cozy, but not suffocating. (It comes in several other colors too!) It fits true to size.
Another fantastic piece by Alternative. I don’t know if you can tell, but this is a sleeveless cardigan. I know, my long sleeves sort of blend into it. It has pockets, which I’m a sucker for, and stylish shawl style collar. I wish I had ordered a size down! It only comes in x-small/small and medium/large.
I like the style and the fabric of this top, but I think it has a bit of an identity crisis. It’s like the top can’t decide if it wants to be a shirt or a tunic. It’s long like a tunic, but fitted like a shirt. Either way, the colors are pretty. 🙂
This sweatshirt is super soft and comfy. It has an open back (see below for stock pic), which makes it a bit uncomfortable for everyday wear for me. I’d be much more likely to wear it with a sports bra for yoga or something like that. I’d say its true to size, or you can go up a size.
Another great tunic! This is my first experience with Neon Buddha and I have to say, I really like what I’ve seen so far! The fit is great – not too fitted, not too baggy. The drape style is very flattering and interesting without being overly trendy. I feel like it fits true to size.
