Winter wardrobe refresh from Trunk Club! My stylist picked so good ones for me!
This is the third installment in what seems to have become a series on refreshing my winter wardrobe with style boxes! (Check out my Stitch Fix box and Wantable box for more.) My Trunk Club stylist sent me a couple longer solid sweaters per my request, plus some other trendy winter styles.
All of the items pictured below are available at Nordstrom.com with free shipping and free returns!
PS, I think it may be time to upgrade my phone. I’m not loving the photo quality of my iPhone 6S! But I’m not sure if I’m going to stick with Apple and get the iPhone X or if I want to give the Pixel 3 a try. Thoughts? Recommendations?
Ok, here’s what my stylist sent in my latest Trunk!
Winter Styles from Trunk Club
My stylist sent me some cute gloves that can be worn while using touchscreen devices. But they were too small, so I didn’t get a photo of them on. (They can be seen in the photo above!)
This fleece jacket is sooooo warm and soft and cozy. I never want to take it off. And these ‘Teddy Jackets‘ are a really hot trend right now. I do think you could do a lot with this jacket if it fits your personal style. But I also think it’s a highly trendy item that you might get bored with after a season or two.
Nothing says ‘Winter Style’ like a thick, warm, blanket scarf. This thing is huge! And so cozy. For me, this is the kind of accessory that looks great in photos, but isn’t actually all that practical in real life. Because a scarf this bulky is a bit difficult for me to move around in. I can see it being used nightly, though, while I watch TV or read my book.
Now this red sweater is a fantastic winter wardrobe piece. The color is gorgeous, classic, not too trendy. There is some interest in the sleeves. And the balloon sleeve is a current trend, but it’s subtle enough that I think it can go on for a few years without getting tired. The sweater is versatile enough to easily dress up/down, wear to work, date night, or weekend.
The fit of this sweater tunic is perfect. I love a boatneck because it can so easily be styled into a dressy look with the right pants and shoes, or a casual look like mine here with a bralette and jeans. Plus, its a classic neckline that won’t go out of fashion. And this gorgeous jewel tone cobalt is an easy way to add some color to your wardrobe palette. (It comes in several other colors too!)
Another fantastic wardrobe staple! This v-neck sweater tunic is a thinner fabric and has a classic cut. I love a v-neck, although it does tend to be on the more casual side. That doesn’t mean you can’t dress it up with the right jewelry and layers though! And it comes in a handful of colors to pick from.
Colored pants are always a great idea for a versatile mix-and-match wardrobe. If you’re just trying this out, you could start with a near neutral, like navy, olive, or eggplant. And a classic jewel tone, like this ruby color, is good for taking it up a notch. Look for colors you can pair with neutral, neutral prints, and coordinating colorful prints already in your closet.
I don’t even really know what to say about these pants. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with them. The *look* like athletic pants, but are made from dress pants material. The stock photo showed the model wearing high heels with them, but they have zippers at the ankle. Again, I don’t even know. LOL!
In theory, these pants are a good wardrobe workhorse staple. They black, so you can do a lot with them. And they’re stretchy and comfortable. But I am not crazy about those zipper pockets. And maybe it’s just because I’m super sensitive about my belly and I feel like those sort of draw attention to it.
Booties are still in! These black leather booties are perfect if you’re looking for a pair that can go with a lot of different outfits. These could easily be dressed up for work or a date night, or of course, dressed down with jeans (as pictured).
